Current Market: Where to Get Started

I’m currently a college student with around $15k saved up in a low interest savings account. I’d really like to make my money work harder than it currently is, but I’m wary trusting much of what I read about investing considering that most of what is available was written before the market crash and therefore inaccurate or offering bad advice in light of the new market realities.

Can anyone recommend some beginner resources that are still relevant in today’s market? I have a basic understanding of the underlying concepts and terms of investing but don’t have much practical experience.

In today’s market, how would you invest $15k to maximize long term performance as a retirement nest egg with 30+ years to grow?
